Let’s Read – Reading Volunteers

Our ‘Let’s Read’ Programme provides one–to–one literacy support to children in primary schools across disadvantaged areas of Leeds.

We welcome volunteers who are able to commit to just one hour a week, during term time.

By listening to and helping children read, you can help children gain essential reading skills, boost their confidence and help raise aspirations.

You can find out more about the programme here.

Healthy Holidays Volunteering Programme

With support from the Healthy Holidays Fund, Learning Partnerships is delighted to be running a summer playscheme to get kids active during the summer and tackle holiday hunger.  We will be running a playscheme aimed at primary school aged children (with a family guardian) 3 days a week in East Leeds and would love volunteers to help engage children and help the event run smoothly.

Help needed: providing drinks and snacks, supporting children and their families in arts, crafts and games, registering families and signposting to other services if needed.  Setting up and packing up!

When?
It will be open to families from 10am-2pm throughout the holidays on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (excluding Thursday 29th July and August Bank Holiday) but ideally volunteers could help between 9am-3pm.

Where?
Nowell Mount Community Centre, Nowell Mount, LS9 6HR
