Healthier Working Futures – funded by WYCA West Yorkshire Combined Authority is a partnership project working with the NHS, Leeds City Council, care homes, Lighthouse Trust and Health & Care Academy.
The project is aimed at 16–24-year-olds who may already have an interest in the health and care sector or would like to learn more about the sector and the different jobs available. Holding open days and introductory courses which will introduce young people to the care industry. Further support is given through 1-2-1 and courses, as well as visits into care environments, with the aim of progressing them into employment within the sector. Accredited training courses will also run alongside, delivered by Leeds City College and Smart Works who are also partners.
