THE JOB ZONE partnership tackles low skills, worklessness, poverty and social exclusion. It is led by Learning Partnerships and enables us to support parents and other adults into work, thus completing the circle from economical exclusion to economic inclusion.

The Future Jobs Fund Programme creates job opportunities for young people aged 18-24. All Jobs are for a minimum of 25 hours per week and last a minimum of 6 months. They are all paid at least minimum wage and all have direct benefit to local communities.

Xperience 9

XPERIENCE9 (Slipstream to Upstream) ended in March 2008. The aim was to engage and support young people aged 16�18 to complete an innovative 12 week programme to develop basic life skills, work experience, and volunteering opportunities.

THE LEARNING ZONE was a £1 million initiative of Learning Partnerships, Job Centre Plus and the East and South Leeds Worklessness groups, targeting non-economically active people with low or no qualifications in East and South Leeds.

MILLENIUM VOLUNTEERS (MV) was a UK-wide scheme for 16–24 year olds designed to help and support young people to develop their skills and experiences through a wide range of volunteering opportunities. The national programme ended in March 2008.

Parent Action Learning Sets (PALS)

PARENT ACTION LEARNING SETS (PALS) ended in March 2007. It was a family learning project set up to help parents gain the skills they need to bring up their children. The project was run in the Harehills, Burmantofts and Chapeltown areas of Leeds.

Moving on up!

MOVING ON UP! Learning Partnerships helped facilitate a DSCF pilot programme called 'Transition Information Sessions' (TIS) aimed at parents. The main purpose of the project was to develop positive life skills through drama and visual arts activities.
