Learning
Partnerships is the only voluntary sector organisation in the
country that runs EiC action zones, funded through the Government's
Excellence in Cities programme.
The
Learning Zone - Harehills, Burmantofts and Chapeltown - has been
running since the year 2000, originally for three years. Its funding
has now been extended until March 2006.
Following
its success, Excellence in Cities asked Learning Partnerships
to lead another zone, this time in the Beeston Hill and Holbeck
area of the city. It will run until December 2006.
