Neighbourhood Support Fund is aimed at young people aged
13 to 19 years who are not in education, training or employment.
Activities include drama, dance, music and environmental studies
- something to spark an interest. Learning Partnerships is the umbrella
organisation for the groups in Leeds.

Millennium
Volunteers is a UK-wide initiative to encourage, support and
recognise the work of 16 to 24-year-olds who volunteer their time
for the benefit of others. Young people build on their own interests
and skills, working within their communities. There are more than
100 young people connected to the programme run by Learning Partnerships.

Xperience
9 is a new scheme, run jointly with Leeds College of Technology,
aimed at young people aged 18-19. They commit themselves to up to
nine months voluntary work in their community, for which they receive
a weekly living allowance of £45. The young people work in
an area of their interest for 30 hours a week. They are also offered
accredited training, job workshops and residentials.

REEMAP
(Raising
Education Ethnic Minority Achievement Partnership) was
set up to raise the educational achievement of black and minority
ethnic children and young people in Leeds. This
is achieved through a network of organisations offering extra support
in the classroom and out-of-school activities to boost confidence,
self-esteem and, in turn, exam results.
